The 47-year-old pleaded guilty to the offence that on Wednesday, August 7, at West Ruimveldt, Georgetown, he verbally abused Audrey Glasgow.
The 47-year-old unemployed defendant was released from prison only on Tuesday, August 6, after serving two and one-half years in jail for an offence committed against the Ministry of Finance.
Police corporal Dinero Jones, prosecuting, told the court that the defendant and virtual complainant (VC) have been reputed husband and wife for 25 years. After they separated, they continued to live at the same address, with the VC residing in the upper flat and the defendant in the lower flat. On the day in question, the defendant verbally abused the VC, and then threatened to throw her out of the home in which she resides.
According to the defendant, they live in the same apartment, and that morning he was sitting with his children when the VC told him that one of his other daughters had a child. He responded that he did not want any children in his place and an argument developed.
Corporal Jones objected to bail on the ground that the latter was sentenced on a matter with the Ministry of Finance.
Dundas was fined $5,000 with an alternative of 12 months imprisonment.
