THE Ministry of Home Affairs wishes to inform the general public that the following persons attended, are attending or will be attending training programmes as follows:
Guyana Police Force
1. Senior Superintendent of Police Maxine Graham, Assistant Superintendent of Police Nathalie Barnwell, Assistant Superintendent of Police Lorraine Saul and Assistant Superintendent of Police Audrey Small will attend the Women in Law Enforcement Leadership Training Programme from 19th August 2013 – 23rd August 2013 in Lima, Peru. The Training Programme is designed to lay the foundation for the development of effective law enforcement leaders from a female perspective.
2. Constables 19822 Komal Pitama and 20249 Roumayne Dunn are attending the Enhanced Constables Development Course from 6th August 2013 – 30th August 2013 in Christ Church, Barbados. The course seeks to develop and maintain the required ethical conduct among candidates in keeping with the principles of their respective organisations.
3. Sergeant 15671 Shellon Daniels and Sergeant 19377 Phillip Sheriff are attending a Court Prosecutors’ Course from 6th August 2013 – 30th August 2013 in Christ Church, Barbados. The course seeks to enlighten candidates about the fundamental principles of prosecution.

4. Cadet Officer Haimchand Persaud, attended the Chemical Emergency Planning Training Course from the 29th July 2013- 2nd August, 2013 in Jamaica. The aim of the training course was to discuss and prepare a regional chemical emergency response plan. The training course also allowed discussions of the procedures within the region and the way to go forward to create a regional strategic response to chemical incidents using as trainers OPCW.

5. Mr. Michael Atherly, MSS, Head of the Task Force on Narcotic Drugs and Illicit Weapons, Ministry of Home Affairs will be attending the Multilateral Evaluation Mechanism (MEM) Governmental Expert Group (GEG) of the Preparatory Session for the Sixth Evaluation Round of the Inter-American Drug Abuse Control Commission (CICAD) from 27th August 2013 – 28th August 2013 in Miami, Florida.
The two (2) day event will discuss key aspects including an overview of the completed surveys submitted by countries and reference documents and the narrative drafts produced by the MEM Section. It will also review the evaluation scale approved by the CICAD in November 2012 and discuss how it will apply this to determine each member state’s situation with regard to the set of recommendations, based on the Hemispheric Drug Strategy and its Plan of Action.
6. Mr. Manniram Prashad, Chairman of the Guyana Gaming Authority, will be attending the Sixth (6th) Latin American Gaming Authority Regulators Meeting from 12th August 2013 -13th August 2013 in Lima, Peru. The purpose of the meeting is for Regulators and State-run lotteries to be duly informed of the constant changes and rapid advances in the industry.
7. Research Officer of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ms. Sarita Mohanlall, will be attending the Women in Law Enforcement Leadership Training Programme from 19th August 2013- 23rd August 2013 in Lima, Peru.
