ATN fighting to hold onto their monopoly

‘BILL to liberalise telecoms sector again deferred’ earned front page mention in the Thursday August 8, 2013 issue of the Guyana Chronicle.

To me personally, I find that once again Atlantic Telecommunications Network (ATN), the parent company of Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company (GT&T), has perversely succeeded in delaying the inevitability of liberalising the telecoms sector.

It is purely and simply disgusting to note how desperately ATN is fighting to hold onto their monopoly and apparently with an authority that is oblivious to this scheming ploy being perpetuated for too many years.

For heavens’ sake, can’t we put an end to this fracas?
