A TWENTY-FOUR-YEAR-OLD man was remanded to prison yesterday, after he pleaded not guilty to a drug-trafficking charge.
Before Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, Andre Gustave, of Vryheid’s Lust, East Coast Demerara, was charged with being in possession of 2.65 kilogrammes of cocaine for the purpose.
It is alleged that, on Tuesday, June 4, at an apartment, in North Ruimveldt, Georgetown, he trafficked the narcotic, by knowingly giving it to Johann Magit, an outgoing passenger from the Cheddi Jagan International Airport, Timehri.
The case has been transferred to another court for fixture on August 15.
