THE GRAVITY LOUNGE – guarantees an unforgettable experience in great indoor/outdoor dining

THE Gravity Lounge, occupying the topmost floor of the landmark Footsteps Megastore at the corner of Camp and Regent Streets in Georgetown, treated the media yesterday to a classy, indoor-outdoor fine-dining experience during a tour and menu-sampling exercise.

altFeaturing a modern, contemporary, fine-dining restaurant, two outdoor dining decks, three bars and an elevated VIP area that offers a panoramic view of Georgetown, this multi-million-dollar investment is evidence of an unwavering belief in the Guyanese economy, and defines the potential of Guyana’s growing tourism and hospitality sector.
General Manager Navin Singh told the media yesterday that management is striving to make The Gravity Lounge, Guyana’s first modern, contemporary, fine-dining restaurant; and accordingly, has employed the services of a consultant chef from Panama, who is here on a three-month stint and is training local chefs and helping to design and create menus such as was offered to the media at yesterday’s engagement.
Singh said the restaurant uses both local and imported ingredients, and definitely wants to highlight local cuisine, as it offers the public both casual and fine dining.alt
He explained that Guyanese are introduced to international cuisine in their travels abroad, so they find it difficult to get good chicken parmesan alfredo when they return home; but The Gravity Lounge offers a lot more than that, and of appetizers as well.
Singh was upbeat when he added that the food on each plate coming out of the kitchen is designed in a very artistic way, since the Panamanian chef takes pride in his cooking and food art, so he uses different sauces to design each plate.
He pointed out that management of The Gravity Lounge holds customer service in the highest regard, and any customer’s first visit is certain to be an unforgettable experience in great indoor-outdoor dining. And there is also the altlounge area and an elevated VIP area which caters for the corporate culture and is equipped with television; is WiFi-friendly; and there are other amenities for various functions and events, besides the sports bar section and the casual area.
Singh disclosed that The Gravity Lounge stocks more than 30 different beers, both domestic and imported; and a variety of drinks, such as mojitos, martinis, and a very expensive bar line-up, thereby offering several options to customers.
The Gravity Lounge currently employs more than 45 persons, but is still short of staff. Accordingly, there is ongoing, constant in-house training of staff to enable them to make local and foreign customers feel right at home with high-end service, Singh said.
He disclosed that the indoor-outdoor seating capacity is between 110 and 120 persons. The lounge seats between 50 and 60 persons, and the elevated dining area seats 40 persons comfortably.
Singh told reporters that The Gravity Lounge is open from Monday to Saturday at 11am, and on Sunday from 5pm. Moreover, there is a strong security presence for parking.
