FOUR venues across Guyana in different regions will be buzzing with activity from 15:30hrs this afternoon, as this year’s nationwide Digicel Schools Football Championships reaches it quarter-final stage.

At the Grove ground on the East Bank of Demerara, Leonora Secondary and Covent Garden will do battle, Ash Education Trust and defending champions Wismar/Christianburg will meet at Wisburg, St. George’s and New Amsterdam Technical Institute will clash at Burnham Park and at the Ministry of Education ground, Waramadong will go head to head with Santa Rosa.
The semi-finals is set for Wednesday at two venues to be named, with the winner of the first listed encounter facing the victorious side of the fourth and the winner of the second taking on the winner of the third.
The third place playoff and finals is set for next Sunday at the Police Sports Club ground Eve Leary, the same venue that hosted last year’s final and also several preliminary round matches in the Georgetown zone of the tournament.
