A THIRTY-YEAR-OLD domestic maid appeared before Magistrate Ann McLennan yesterday, charged with simple larceny,
Rhonique Fraser, of Lot 11 Samaroo Dam, East Bank Demerara, pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, between July 8 and 10, at Lot 118 Roxanne Burnham Gardens, Georgetown, while being employed by Welton Adams, she stole a gold ring valued $180,000.
Police Corporal Bharat Mangru, prosecuting, told the court that the woman stole the jewel from her employer’s home and admitted to him that she had given it to someone to sell.
On an application by attorney-at-law, Mr. Adrian Thompson, the defendant was granted $75,000 bail until August 13.
