Brumell reaffirms… Police continue to support government of the day

ACTING Commissioner Leroy Brumell has reaffirmed that he and, by extension, the Guyana Police Force (GPF) continue to support the government of the day.

altHe also assured that, apart from President Donald Ramotar and his Cabinet, the police will also ensure service and protection to the other citizens of Guyana.
The Top Cop said that will be accomplished by rigidly enforcing traffic and other laws which serve to protect the citizens and their welfare.
Brumell spoke to the Guyana Chronicle following a fitness walk organised by the Force Training School last Sunday, at the start of activities to officially commence the celebration of the 174th anniversary of the GPF.
Senior Police officers, including Force Training Officer, Senior Superintendent Paul Williams, successfully completed the journey from Sparendaam Police Station, East Coast Demerara to the recently commissioned Police Officers’ Training Centre on Camp Road, Georgetown.
The exercise saw close to 300 people taking part attracting the attention of scores of supportive spectators along the route.alt
Brumell said, after, that the exciting almost seven to eight miles march was, indeed, challenging.
He said, because of the exigencies of his duties, he is, often, unable to take part in such actions, although much needed.
Brumell said it was an honour to come out and walk with the trainees as they get fit and prepare for engagements to mark the 174th anniversary.
Addressing participants following the march, Williams told them it was truly a successful one that raised the curtain on the anniversary programme, which is continuing.
Congratulating those who were involved in the activity, he said it signalled the intention of the Force to, definitely, position itself to regain the trust of the public through partnership, respect, integrity and humanity.
