Leandre Perez, 18, of Port Kaituma, died following an accident at Farm End, Matthews Ridge, North West District yesterday. Seven others were injured.

According to the Police, at about 13: 00hrs, a motor lorry was going up a hill when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it toppled.
Eight persons, including miner Perez, were in the tray of the vehicle. They were all injured and were rushed to the Matthews’ Ridge Hospital where Perez was pronounced dead.
Police revealed that three others were treated and sent away, while the other four persons have been air-dashed to the city. The driver of the motor lorry fled the scene.
