THREE contracts were signed, last Saturday, for the construction of two schools and an infrastructural project in Region 1 (Barima/Waini). The formalities took place in the Santa Rosa Secondary School, at Kumaka, where copies of the bills of quantities were handed over to the Santa Rosa Toshao, Mr Richard Cornelius and Area Councillors for the respective communities where the works will be undertaken.
The building of the sanitary block at Koko Nursery School will cost $1,368,600; another at Karaburi Nursery $1,368,600 and constructing the revetment at Tucupita $8,509,820.
The contractor for all three jobs is AAV Ragobeer General Construction, whose principal, Mr. Andree Ragobeer affixed his signature, as well, in the presence of Regional Chairman, Mr. Paul Pierre; Regional Executive Officer, Mr Nigel Fisher; Regional Development Officer, Mr Saeed Baksh; Buildings Overseer, Mr. Dhanraj Ram; Santa Rosa Toshao, Mr. Richard Cornelius; Koko Area Councillor, Ms. Karen Williams and Karaburi Area Councillor, Mr. Benedict Rodrigues.
