Gonsalves, Lake to battle for Junior Lightweight title … ‘Hurry Up’ Moore also on Guyana Fight Night Pro-Am card

THE names of the eight amateur boxers for the Guyana Fight Night Pro-Am card on June 29 at the Uitvlugt Community Centre ground have been recently released by the Guyana Boxing Association (GBA).
The 28th edition of the event will include bouts such as Jaime Kellman  against Quincy Wright (55-54 lb), Shaquille Wright versus Shemar
Bumbury (75-79 lb), Shaka Moore against Stephon Green

(105-109) altand Quincy Boyce versus Travis Hubbard (118-125).
In the professional segment of the card, Trinidad and Tobago-based Guyanese Dexter Gonsalves and Barbadian Revlon Lake will feature as they battle for the local junior lightweight title.
Gonsalves’ record stands at five wins, one loss and two draws while Lake’s record is six wins, eight losses and two draws.
Lake, the former national lightweight champion, is on a three-fight losing streak while Gonsalves has not fought since 2009.
The undercard will feature debutants Laured ‘Nightmare’ Stewart and Romeo Norville.  Stewart will take on Anson Green in a four-round welterweight bout while Norville will face Eversley Brown in a middleweight contest also scheduled for four rounds.
Troy Lewis also makes a return to the ring when he faces the hard-hitting Berbician, Kelsey George, in a four-round super middleweight rematch. Lewis defeated the Berbician in his debut encounter in September 2011.
Former world rater, Leon ‘Hurry Up’ Moore (29-2, 23 KOs), Rudolph Fraser, Shahid Alli and his United States of America opponent, Alan Phelan, are also set to do battle on the card.
Moore will take on Fraser in an eight-round matchup while Alli will face Phelan over four rounds.
Entertainment will be provided by Slingerz Family; Admission is $1500 and the first bell sounds at 20:00hrs.
