All Saints Primary lift male football title

ALL Saints Primary School in New Amsterdam, played tactical football to outfox their opponents and capture the male inter-primary football title in the Guyana Teachers Union (GTU – N/A) round-robin tourney, at the Scott’s School Ground.

altThe tournament which was played on 20-minute duration per game attracted five schools in the N/A District. All Saints Primary, St Therese Primary, N/A Primary, St Aloysius Primary and the Overwinning Primary, all contested with intensity on a light outfield.
In Game 1, St Therese defeated St Aloysius 1-0. Edron Stephen netted the lone goal. In Game 2, All Saints Primary outplayed Overwinning 2-0, Kevon McAndrew netted a double. In Game 3, St Aloysius drew 0-0 with N/A Primary.
In Game 4, St Therese edged Overwinning 1-0 through a goal by Rayon Rose. In Game 5, All Saints drew 0-0 with N/A Primary. In Game 6, St Aloysius defeated Overwinning 2-0. Alesi Ogleton netted once and a defence error did the trick for the winners.
In Game 7, All Saints drew 0-0 with St Therese. In Game 8, N/A Primary also drew 0-0 with St Therese. In Game 9, All Saints laid a hand on the title by edging St Aloysius 1-0 in a roller-coaster encounter. Tyrese Williams netted for the winners. In Game 10, Overwinning and N/A Primary played to a 0-0 draw, to bring the curtain down on the tourney.
St Therese Primary secured second spot and N/A Primary rounded off the top three.
The winners received medals and trophies while the second- & third-placed teams, received medals.
Trophies were also awarded for individual performances.
Shaquan George of All Saints was adjudged Most Valuable Player, Daniel Dharamdat of St Aloysius was adjudged Most Promising Player, Tierre Phillips of N/A Primary was adjudged Best Goalkeeper and Kevon McAndrew of All Saints copped the trophy for scoring the Most Goals (2).
The tournament was organised by Neil ‘Grizzly’ Humphrey and the Hearts of Oak Masters Football Club in collaboration with the GTU – N/A Branch and sanctioned by the Region Six Department of Education.
