Police make arrests, seize revolver, ammo, loot in successful city raids

Police on a mobile patrol on Saturday stopped and searched a man at Go Slow Avenue, Georgetown and found an unlicensed firearm and two rounds.

At about 12:15 hrs as the man was driving a motorcycle along Go Slow Avenue, Georgetown, police stopped him and during a search of his person they found an unlicensed .38 revolver with two rounds in his possession. He is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident police conducted raids on Saturday in Georgetown during which several articles were  found and seized, as they  are suspected to have been either stolen or unlawfully obtained.
During the operation ranks arrested seven men, including two who were wanted for questioning in connection with the cocaine seizure at the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA) on the 4th June, 2013, in which Canadian national Johall Manget was charged and sentenced to three years imprisonment.

4.      Two  Black Computer Key Boards
5.      One  Tech Mouse
6.      One  1000 Watts Voltage Regulator
7.      One  White and Black Canon Printer Serial # HU10256701
8.      Two Grey Backup Power Supply Units
9.      Two Computer Speakers and one  Mouse
10.  One White and Grey HP Printer # C 90938
11.  Four Speakers and Cable
12.  Two  Toshiba Lap Top Computers
13.  One Green Dell Computer # PP22X with Charger

Persons who have suffered the loss of such articles are requested to visit CID Headquarters, Eve Leary, with proof of ownership.
