Minister Ali receives Guyana tourism publication

MINISTER of Tourism, Industry and Commerce Irfaan Ali was recently presented with a copy of the Guyana tourism publication, ‘Blazing a New Trail in Virgin Territory’.
The author Edwin Ali handed over the book to the Minister at the ‘Invest Guyana’ Forum at the Caribbean Trade Centre in Miami.The book, which portrays Guyana as a distinctive tourism destination that is a haven for nature lovers, features Guyana’s wildlife, waterfalls and historical buildings. It invites visitors to explore Guyana’s rainforest and see a 200 pound Jaguar, the Black Caiman, the giant Harpy Eagle and the River Otter.
“Those who are willing to brave the unknown and blaze a trail in virgin forest are assured of some of the amazing sights in the only English speaking country in South America. Here, those travellers who yearn for something more challenging than the mundane beach and turquoise waters, can have their dreams come through,” Ali states in his promotion of the book.
A Journalist for 54 years, Edwin Ali was Editor of Caribbean Today News magazine for nine years and later became the Newspaper’s Travel Editor. He is currently Caribbean and Middle East Correspondent for www.jetsettersmagazine.com and Assistant Editor of Caribbean Voice newspaper.
Ali is a former Editor in Chief of the Guyana Broadcasting Corporation, correspondent for the BBC, Reuters and Gemini of London, Caribbean News Agency, Radio Antilles of Montserrat and Alacode of Colombia.
Ali also presented the Minister with two of his other publications – Muslims in America and the Rise of the Phoenix in Guyana’s Turbulent Politics.
