THE National Association of Regional Chambers of Commerce (ARCC) has expressed delight that the New Guyana Pharmaceutical Corporation (New GPC), a Guyanese-owned business, has achieved the distinction of signing the first franchise agreement on behalf of Guyana for the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). The ARCC in a press release yesterday stated: “The ARCC is cognizant of the fact that the game of cricket is traditionally a unifying force among Guyanese and also the entire Caribbean; transcending partisan politics, ethnicity and social status.”
The ARCC also commended the franchisee, Dr. Ranjisingh (Bobby) Ramroop for undertaking such a patriotic investment in the national interest. The organisation also urged all progressive Guyanese to unequivocally support and encourage this bold undertaking.
According to the release, the ARCC, as the national representative of several business communities including hundreds of micro and small enterprises throughout Guyana, commends the government and relevant authorities for ending the drought of international high class cricket matches taking place in Guyana over a continuous period.
