THIRTY-NINE-YEAR-OLD Kevin Bisham, of Arch Road, Industry, East Coast Demerara, was granted $30,000 bail, on a simple larceny charge yesterday.
He appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman and pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said that on Saturday, June 8, in Water Street, Georgetown, he stole three tins of baby powder and four bottles of baby oil, valued a total of $5,185. from Muneshwer’s Limited. The defendant told the Court he went in to the store to purchase the items but did not get to reach the cashier because a boy came from behind and assaulted him.
A representative of Muneshwer’s informed the Court that Bisham was seen on the security camera putting the stolen articles into his pocket and was apprehended as he was about to leave.
Police Sergeant Simone Payne, prosecuting, had no objection to bail. The case was adjourned to June 24.
