Where is the misrepresentation?

I WISH to reply to a letter written by Ms. Lurlene Nestor in the June 6 edition of the Stabroek News contending that the Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs, Mr. Anil Nandlall, misrepresented Opposition Leader Mr. David Granger in respect of the confirmation of Justice Ian Chang and Justice Carl Singh in the positions of Chief Justice and Chancellor of the Judiciary, respectively.

I read what the Attorney General said, and which was published in the press. I also heard what he said on television. I read what Mr. Granger said, and which was also published in the newspapers.I also heard what he (Granger) said on television.
I then revisited what the Attorney General said in order to understand Mr. Granger’s accusation that the Attorney General lied. I am left bewildered.
The AG said that the Leader of the Opposition has, thus far, refused to give his agreement to the confirmation of Justice Carl Singh and Justice Ian Chang in the positions of Chancellor of the Judiciary and Chief Justice, respectively.
The Attorney General also said that the Leader of the Opposition has failed to give any reason for not supporting their confirmation regarding their competence or suitability to those offices.
Mr. Granger with great speed rushed to respond. He gave a long argument of what his position is. From every conceivable perspective and by any rational interpretation, Mr. Granger, in essence, confirmed that he is not prepared to agree to the appointment of the two gentlemen and he has not furnished any reason for his position relating to either the competence or the suitability of the two gentlemen to hold the two offices.
So I ask every rational-minded Guyanese, where and how did the Attorney General lie? I ask Ms. Lurlene Nestor: Where is the misrepresentation of which she is accusing the Attorney General?
In conclusion and in-fact, everything that Mr. Granger said confirms exactly and precisely what the Attorney General said.
I feel embarrassed for the Leader of the Opposition.
