THE EXECUTIVES and members of the Georgetown Cricket Association (GCA) would like to congratulate the president Roger Harper on his appointment as Head Coach of the Guyana franchise team which will compete in the inaugural Caribbean Premier League T20 tournament.
Harper, a former Guyana and West Indies all-rounder-cum-coach, along with former West Indies fast bowler Curtly Ambrose, was last Thursday named Head Coach and Assistant Coach respectively of the Guyana franchise.
Trinidad and Tobago and Pakistan spin wizards Sunil Narine and Mohammed Hafeez were named as the West Indies and International franchise players respectively, with the rest of the team being selected today when the draft takes place in Jamaica.
The GCA congratulatory message to Harper reads:
“We in the GCA know that Roger Harper, who is a former coach of the West Indies senior team and also manager of the Guyana senior team, would, with the help of his assistant, the great Curtly Ambrose, guide the franchise to the inaugural title.
Once again, we at the GCA would like to wish Harper and the Guyana franchise, best of luck in their quest for glory.”
