Agonising delay in accessing salary at Scotiabank

MY salary went into Scotiabank on Monday May 20, 2013 but unbelievably three days later I could not access it.

This bank mints hundreds of millions of dollars annually from Guyanese customers but in return this is the disdain and contempt with which they are treated in return.
Efforts to get through to the bank to find out what was the problem proved to be like a trip to hell!
Poor quality service to customers seems to have become the norm in Guyana. Everywhere customers have to experience inordinate delays, hassle and bureaucracy. Is this the way we will move our country forward in an increasingly competitive world?
One of the reasons Guyanese, even though they love their country, prefer to live in North America and elsewhere, is because of the excellent customer service they enjoy there, and very importantly, they have avenues of recourse if they encounter lousy customer service.
The motto of service providers in Guyana seems to be: “Customers are the least important.”
