VINOD Balgobin of Lot 316 Independence Boulevard, Albouystown, Georgetown appeared yesterday before Georgetown Magistrate Sueanna Lovell charged with the murder of 30-year-old Maryann Sunita Nauth, allegedly committed at South Road in Georgetown between May 11 and 12 last. The 34-year-old accused was not required to plead to the indictable charge, and was remanded to prison until his next court appearance on May 21.The deceased was reportedly stabbed more than a dozen times, and was left to die in a pool of blood in a room at the K&VC hotel in Georgetown. Among the injuries visible on the woman’s body were slashes to her breasts, between which a knife had been left stuck.

The woman had showed up at the hotel in the company of a man, and the two had not seemed to have had any problems, hotel staffers told this publication.
The woman’s body was discovered just after 05:00 hrs, when hotel workers visited the room to remind the couple that their booked time had expired.
