THE story about how a peacemaker was stabbed to death in 2009, while attempting to part a fight at King Edward and James Street, Albouystown, was told a judge and Jury at the Demerara Assizes yesterday.
This happened at the trial of Carl Bennett, who is accused of the murder of Mervin Boston on October 24, 2009.
According to the prosecutor, Miss Rhondel Weever , there was a family brawl on the day in question, when Boston turned up and attempted to perform the duties of peacemaker, and he was stabbed to death.
Among the witnesses who testified yesterday was Sgt. Nigel Stevens, who is in charge of the investigations.
Presiding at the trial is Mr. Justice Navindra Singh.
Attorney-at-Law Mr. Nigel Hughes is defending.
