HEMRAJ Sanichara (no address given) agreed, yesterday, to accept $800,000 compensation from Gregory Jarvis, who wounded him, damaging his jaws.

The two men appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore charged with assaulting each other.
The charge against Jarvis, 26, of Lot 179 Samantha Point, East Bank Demerara, said, on May 7 last, at Sophia, Greater Georgetown, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Sanichara with intent to maim, disfigure, disable, or cause him grievous bodily harm.
Particulars of Sanichara’s offence said, the same day, he unlawfully assaulted Jarvis so as to cause him actual bodily harm.
The case against Sanichara was dismissed and Jarvis will return to court today to hand over the money with which he will compensate the former. (Telesha Ramnarine)
