I READ Carl Parker’s letter in the Kaieteur News under the caption “Who had the most to gain from Rodney’s death?” in its issue of Sunday May 12, 2013.
In relation to this letter, I wish to state the following:-

1. Forbes Burnham must not be conferred with the Oliver Tambo Award since it is the general opinion in Guyana that he ordered the killing of Dr Walter Rodney and GDF Sergeant Gregory Smith carried out the horrible act.
2. According to Parker’s rationale on Rodney’s death, one can also say that the WPA and certain elements in the APNU may have been responsible for Rodney’s assassination. Can this be possible Parker?
3. Parker said that Rodney “openly criticised Burnham and the PNC and his many rallies on the Merriman’s Mall gathered huge crowds.” And “The throngs of people gathered at those meetings were as diverse as the Guyanese population.” Isn’t this the reason why Burnham got scared of losing power and decided to end Rodney’s life since Rodney shook the fascist PNC at its roots, Parker, using high “highly-tempered steel?”
4. Parker said: “Burnham had the military forces behind him.” He also had a very effective and efficient intelligence apparatus. Thus, he had no reason to fear an armed insurrection from any local quarter. So true because it was GDF officers who immediately took Gregory Smith by helicopter to Kwakwani where he entered Suriname after Rodney’s assassination. Also, why didn’t Burnham’s “effective and efficient intelligence apparatus” trace Rodney’s car and arrest him with the bomb in his possession? It is suspected that they must have known about Burnham’s plan to execute Rodney. Burnham was fearful of Rodney’s “People’s Power, No Dictator” meetings and rallies.
5. I encourage Parker, who is a PNC twit in Lethem, to read Tacuma Ogunseye’s letter under the caption, “Questions for David Granger.” This letter showed clearly that Burnham was responsible for the death of Rodney.
6. Parker asks: Who had the most to gain from Rodney’s death? The answer is your PNC/APNU party Parker, which continues to be saved from national and international disgrace and extinction. But judgement day by the Great Spirit is not ruled out for God does not sleep.
7. Parker, a third-former political activist for APNU in Lethem, is hiding from the truth that the founder of the PNC, Forbes Burnham, was responsible for Rodney’s death and worst, this is the party that Parker is a member of and encouraging Rupununi residents to support. How disgraceful.
