CHIEF Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry dismissed the larceny charge against 37-year-old Shawn Yhap yesterday

The defendant (no address given) had previously appeared in Court 2 months ago, when it was alleged that, on March 15, in Water Street, Georgetown, he stole one T-Mobile cellular phone, valued $75,000.
On that occasion, he was remanded to prison because investigations were continuing but, after five adjournments, the prosecution was still unable to produce statements – the reason for the dismissal.
