STELLA Ramsaroop writes in Stabroek News weekly preaching to the Guyanese public what they should or should not do. Here is an American woman with no legal ties to Guyana who visits once every three months. From all indications, she seems to be spending her husband’s money lavishly in Guyana to impress those around her.
Why doesn’t she spend his money in the United States with all the domestic violence that goes on there right in her own city? Why not help those around her? I told my husband, she does not represent me or any other woman in Guyana. Why not put the money into Red Thread which has been along our side for decades when women needed help?
She has written negatively of her dead mother, negatively of her husband leaving her with four children to raise. Yet she is in Guyana spending his money. She has written negative-ly against her politician brother-in-law Peter Ramsaroop. She writes negatively of our President, our former presidents and current ministers. She is a disgrace to our beautiful country. She writes as if she is one of our women in Guyana when she has never lived here or even spent time in our country for any length of time. Recently in her column, she chastised men in Guyana for how they sweet talk our women. This is our culture-both men and women embrace the way we do things. I have seen many times when both men and women if they don’t like something will say it. This last week, I was at the Pegasus for a function and saw Stella staying at the hotel. I laughed;when so many women are in need of basic things in cases of Domestic Violence, yet she stays at the most expensive hotel in our country. We don’t need an American woman who by all indications is not happy with herself. Many of her facebook posts show someone in dire need of attention.
I recommend she starts writing for a local newspaper in the United States and stop wasting her husband’s money in Guyana on showcasing a building that helps no one, or on lavish events that don’t personally help one single battered woman.
