PEOPLE’S Progressive Party stalwart, Mr.Isahack Basir, has set up a cornerstone at the Cheddi Jagan Bio Diversity Park, Lima Sands, on the Essequibo Coast, in memory of the late Father of the Nation and Founder of the PPP,  President Cheddi Jagan, and his wife, Janet Jagan, who was also President and Head of the Women’s Progressive Organisation [WPO}

Mr. Basir, who worked closely with the late Leader during the dark days of the party, said several activities were held at the Bio Diversity Park during the month of March to commemorate the life and works of the Jagans.
According to the former Member of Parliament, scores of secondary school children visited the park and observed the cornerstone
He said during the month many visited the site and laid wreaths at the monument.
