Brazilian national dies -following collision between his ATV and a truck in Siparuni

A Brazilian national is the  latest road fatality after the All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) he was travelling on collided with a truck which was proceeding in the opposite direction on Saturday.

Police said at about 11:00 hours on April 20, 2013, a lorry and an unregistered ATV, travelling in opposite directions, collided on a turn along the trail at Frenchman, Siparuni.
Two Brazilian nationals driver, Gerald Rusino, 37, and pillion rider, Dennis Perries, 37, who were on the ATV, received injuries.
Dennis Perries subsequently succumbed to his injuries, while Gerald Rusino has been admitted to the Mackenzie Hospital.
Investigations are in progress.
Last week a canter truck toppled at Walton Hall, Essequibo, as mourners were going to a funeral and one person died while more than a dozen were injured.
Recently, a truck toppled while transporting goods and passengers in Region 1 and a woman was killed while others were injured.
