STEVEN Fraser, 18, of Lot 135 Fourth Street, Agricola, Greater Georgetown, has also been charged with robbery under arms. He pleaded not guilty when he appeared before Magistrate Judy Latchman yesterday, denying that, on Thursday November 8, 2012, in Robb Street, Bourda, Georgetown, being armed with a gun, he robbed Troy Johnson of three gold chains valued $625,000.
Police Sergeant Vishnu Hunt, prosecuting, objected to bail and Fraser was denied the grant, based on the value involved, the penalty attached to such a crime, the weapon allegedly used and the likelihood of the defendant not returning for trial.
The case will be called, again, on April 22, until then the defendant is remanded to prison.
