Upper Corentyne Chamber of Commerce & Industry installs new executive : – to serve for 2013/2014

THE Upper Corentyne Chamber of Commerce & Industry (UCCCI) has installed a new executive body comprising Krishnand Jaichand (Intercity Taxi Service/City Inn) as president; Mohamed Zaladin (Zaladin Industries) as vice president; Hamant Narain (Deckers Stationery) as secretary; Harry Ghaness (Manager of Republic Bank Ltd., Corriverton Branch) as treasurer; and Philip Kowlessar (Diamond Insurance) as assistant secretary/treasurer, to serve for the period 2013/2014. The eight (8) committee members are Vishnu Doerga of Venu Shopping Centre and Doerga Business Enterprise; Shama Latchman of Raj Singh Insurance; Asrafally Yakub of SWISS; Mohindra Persaud of Nand Persaud & Company Ltd; Kumar Dudnath of Kumar’s Hardware Store; Abraham Subnauth of TATOIL; Bhojnarine Khemraj of B. Khemraj Agri & Auto Sales; and Nandraney Kishun of R.L. Kishun Machinery Importers.

The two new faces on the executive are Bohjnarine Khemraj and Shama Latchman.

Installation of the executive was done after the elections at the Annual General Members Meeting, which was held on Sunday last at the City Inn at Line Path, Corriverton.

UCCCI is a member of the Private Sector Commission (PSC). It aims to promote development of trade and commerce nationally and internationally. The Chamber also works with government and other private sector agencies to protect the private sector and develop the Upper Corentyne area.

The UCCCI has on roll 93 members, of which eight are corporate entities.
