‘After laugh is cry’ to tackle issue of domestic violence : – deals with implementing family values

KINGDOM Dynamics with support from the Human Services Ministry and corporate Guyana will be hosting “After laugh is cry”, a production starring Mr. David Mann, also known as “Mr. Brown”, which will tackle the societal issue of domestic violence. This family-oriented event will be held at the National Park, Georgetown, on Sunday 19th May, 2013 at 7:00pm and will also feature performances by local artistes.
Speaking at a press conference yesterday at Gizmos and Gadgets Store on Wellington Street, Marketing Manager of Kingdom Dynamics, Mr. Ewart Sampson said that a percentage of the proceeds from this event will be given to the Human Services Ministry to aid in the fight against domestic violence.
According to him, the main objective of Kingdom Dynamics is to bring core values to families and in this regard they will also ensure that this production provides solutions to this problem, as well as preventative measures.
He explained that “After laugh is cry” is a dual-coined phrase that suggests that laughter, happiness and lots of merriment precede the epidemic of domestic violence.
“Mr. Brown” will be accompanied by eight other persons, including Tamela Mann, who is popularly known as “Cora”.
Sponsors of this event include Rainbow Fashion, Hits and Jams Television (HJTV) and Princess Hotel and Mr. Sampson pointed out that corporate Guyana is seeing the need to fight against domestic violence.
Representatives from the various sponsoring agencies present at the press conference expressed their delight at being on board with the event which deals with implementing family values.
According to Mr. Sampson, he met with officials from Princess Hotel and they agreed to give a percentage of their proceeds to the Human Services Ministry.
 Meanwhile, he extended an invitation to corporate Guyana to further support this venture and called on every citizen to ensure that they attend this event which he said would provide an evening of laughter for the family, while educating the public about domestic violence.
VIP, stage front and regular tickets for the event are $10,000, $5,000 and $2,500 respectively for adults, while children 13 years-and- under are  $3000, $2000 and $1,000 for VIP, stage front and regular tickets respectively.
Mr. David Mann is a stage actor, gospel singer, and stand-up comedian who has starred in many Tyler Perry’s plays, including “I can do bad all by myself”, “Madea’s Family Reunion” and “Meet the Browns.”
