THE  police are conducting investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of Frederick Thomas, 70 years, of Friendship, East Coast Demerara, who was found on the stairway of the Gaumont Hotel, High Street, Georgetown, with a stab wound to his chest at about 14:30hrs yesterday. According to the police statement, he was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation.
 
Three women and two men are in police custody assisting with the investigations.
