SUPERB shooting by Travis Waterton, who scored in the 5th minute, and Shawn Daniels with another in the 17th, powered one of the tournament favourites, TLC Shipping Russians of Amelia’s Ward, past Spiegthland 2-0 in the night cap game on day five of the Banks DIH Linden Guinness Greatest of the Streets football championship at the Amelia’s Ward/ Wisrock Bus Park last Saturday night.
On a night where there were three other wins and four draws, Hundred Dollar Cars squeezed past Topp Class 1-0 on a goal scored by Delroy Thompson in the 10th minute to open the night’s proceedings while Amazing and Exodus played to a 3-3 entertaining stalemate.
For Amazing, their goals came from Adrian Kyte who got goals in the 9th and 17th minute of play with Dexter Garraway also netting in the 17th minute for Amazing.
The Exodus side had actually taken the lead from an Abassi Blounte strike in the 4th minute while Sam McKenzie equalised in the 9th minute as they took the lead in the 16th minute off a Gavin Daw goal before Amazing rebounded to earn a creditable draw.
The third game was between Wisrock and Half Mile/One Mile which ended in a 0-0 score and the fourth game saw Classic Six beating Pokerburg 2-0 due to strikes from Mario Batson who got both goals in the 14th and 17th minute of the game.
Game five was another which did not produce a winner as Attackers held off the string hard Knocks 1-1 after taking the lead through Ryan Smith’s 7th minute first half strike, before the Hard Knocks drew level off the boot of Oswald Benjamin.
Then, it was Silver Bullets who shot their way past Street Vibes with a 2-0 win due to strikes from Tony Gibbons in the 4th minute and Nigel Bonnette in the 8th minute. The penultimate game of the evening was another deadlock game between Unique Unknowns and Silent Assassin.
The competition continues next Saturday night when the penultimate round of the round robin play will continue at the same venue.
