Two bodies pulled from Demerara River, Pegasus pool

THE police are seeking the assistance in identifying a body of a man which was pulled from the Demerara River aback of the GNIC Wharf just after noon yesterday.
The man, who appeared to be elderly, had grey hair and was clad in short pants.

altThe discovery saw several staff of the shipping company and other offices flocking to the river side to get a glimpse of the body.
Undertakers of Lyken’s funeral parlor arrived soon after the discovery and took away the body when the police had completed their initial investigations.
Meanwhile the police are also investigating the discovery of a man who was found floating in the Pegasus pool on Thursday afternoon, after he visited the hotel to have a swim.
The man is a British national who was staying at another hotel in the city.
The name of the man was given as Julian Dere, 77. After being pulled from the pool he was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
