Man charged with assaulting blind uncle

A MAN appeared in Court yesterday, charged with assaulting his blind uncle. Collis Anthony, 32, of Lot 1163 Pigeon Place, South Ruimveldt Park, Georgetown, pleaded not guilty to the charge before Magistrate Allan Wilson.
Particulars of the offence said, on March 23, the defendant unlawfully assaulted Dexter Harry to cause him actual bodily harm.
Police Corporal Renetta Bentham, prosecuting, had no objection to bail but requested that the nephew be placed on a bond to keep the peace until the case is concluded.
The Prosecutor said Anthony and his blind uncle had an argument and the former struck the latter about the body with a piece of wood.
The defendant was ordered to post $15,000 surety until the case is called, again, on May 6.
