The right-hander stroked an unbeaten 119 to steer the hosts to a strong position of 285 for five at the close at Queen’s Park Oval.
Sent in, T&T were reeling at 19 for three inside the first hour but Mohammed anchored three big partnerships to haul his side away from danger.
He put on 117 for the fourth wicket with captain Dwayne Bravo who carved out an entertaining 60, before adding a further 80 with the big-hitting Kieron Pollard who got 45.
At the close, Mohammed was involved in an unbroken sixth-wicket stand of 69 with Stephen Katwaroo, who was unbeaten on 28.
