Minibus driver succumbs after smash-up with container truck

Nazim Misie, the driver of the route 44 minibus which collided with the container hauler at Coldingen, East Coast Demerara, on Thursday, succumbed at the Georgetown Public Hospital early yesterday morning. Misie, who lived at Newtown, Enmore, East Coast Demerara, left his home for work on Thursday morning and was later invoved in an accident at Coldingen.
He has left to mourn his wife Amanda Misie and two children, son Mark, 11, and daughter Aliah, 9.
When this newspaper visited Enmore, his relatives and friends were in mourning under a tent, and others  were playing cards and dominos.
Nazim’s aunt, Bibi Hussain, in an invited comment, indicated that many of his relatives, friends and other residents of the village and elsewhere were shocked at learning of his death.
She noted that he was always an easygoing man who made special provision for his children and wife and also shared whatever he had with  those in need.
Nazim Misie was among 14 persons admitted to the Georgetown Public Hospital after the route 44 minibus they were in collided with a container hauler on the Coldingen Public Road.
Meanwhile, while eight persons are under medical care at the hospital, others who were involved in the accident were sent home after receiving treatment.
