DOMINIQUE Heywood, Kenisha Heywood and Latonia Heywood (no addresses given) all appeared before Magistrate Sueanna Lovell yesterday, charged jointly with assault. Particulars of the charge said, on March 8, they assaulted Omario Naipaul but they all pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Naipaul, of Lot 297 East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, also faced two charges of wounding. Particulars stated that, on March 8, he unlawfully and maliciously wounded Amannaki Heywood and Latonia Heywood and, he, too, pleaded not guilty.
Attorney-at-law Mr. Paul Fung-a-Fat for the Heywoods and counsel for Naipaul, Mr. Dexter Todd, both requested reasonable bail.
Todd said Naipaul and Kenisha Heywood share a relation of which her family does not approve and, that day, she was in a bus on which the defendant works and her relatives went to the park and gave him a sound beating before he was rescued by a driver.
The lawyer said, when Naipaul went to the hospital to receive medical attention, the police arrested him.
Naipual was ordered to post $100,000 surety for both charges and the Heywood defendants were instructed to post $20,000 each.
All the cases will be called, again, on March 25.
