CHAIRMAN of the Education and Training Sub Committee of the Region 2 Democratic Council, Rudolph Williams, has reported that officers of the Department of Education conducted a truancy campaign recently in the Onderneeming sand pit areas, and nabbed 24 children who were not attending school. The councillor, speaking at the RDC meeting for March, said the children were immediately enrolled at the Suddie Primary School annex at Onderneeming sand pit.
Onderneeming is a large housing scheme that is being developed out of a forested area.
