THE BERBICE Cricket Board (BCB)-organised 2012 Tenelec Inc first division 50-overs cricket competition reached the semi-final stage which has been fixed for tomorrow at venues in Canje and Lower Corentyne.
At Cumberland in Canje, Group A winners Young Warriors, whose batting has been severely weakened, following the absence of two former national
batsmen Richard Ramdeen and Gajanand Singh as well as former national Under-19 batsman Seon Hetmyer, will host Port Mourant Karibee Rice, with umpires being Zaheer Moakan and Imran Moakan.
Group A runners-up Rose Hall Town Gizmos and Gadgets with Test player Assad Fudadin and Guyana all-rounder Rajiv Ivan both available, along with Guyana T20 all-rounder Royston Crandon, will be at home to third-placed and defending champions Albion Community Centre.
Former West Indies players leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo and opener Sewnarine Chattergoon will turn out for Albion, who will be without their current Test players, batsman Narsingh Deonarine and left-arm spinner Veerasammy Permaul. Clement Brusch and Omadat Samaroo will call play.
The matches are scheduled to start at 09:30hrs and the winners will clash in the final on a date to be announced by the BCB.
