Fourth drug defendant granted bail reduction

FIFTY-YEAR-OLD Kennard De Younge was granted a bail reduction, from $50,000 to $10,000 on Tuesday when he made another appearance before Magistrate Alex Moore at the Sparendaam Court.

The defendant pleaded with the magistrate to reduce the surety, stating that he is the sole breadwinner for the home and his five children were suffering since his incarceration.
He had first appeared on March 8, together with Jermaine Hope, Marvin Gittens and Cevaughn Sharples, charged with possession of 32 grammes of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
All the others had their bail paid but De Younge had indicated that he cannot afford the sum.
The case has been fixed for April 4, for report.
