Metro renews cricket sponsorship of RHTYSC Female team

FOR THE sixth successive year, stationery giant Metro Office and Computer Supplies renewed its cricket sponsorship of the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club Female team called RHT Metro, doing so to the tune of $160 000, keeping alive a trend they started since 1998.

Regional Manager of Metro Ms Avia Lindie in handing over the sponsorship praised the Rose Hall Town Metro Team as true representatives of her company’s brand and noted that their hard work and discipline over the years has produced positive results.
When relating to positive results, the RHT Metro Female team can proudly boast of producing the first Guyanese female cricketer to score an international century, in Shemaine Campbelle who also leads the side, with Erva Giddings another female West Indies player as her deputy.
Lindie urged the members of the team to remain focused and disciplined and to always aim for the highest standard.
Long-serving Secretary/CEO of the RHTYSC Hilbert Foster expressed the club’s delight at having Metro on board once again as an official sponsor and noted that the Metro Female Team has been very successful in the past, winning both the Berbice and national female championship.
Apart from Campbelle and Giddings, other members of the team are: Nikita Toney, Melanie Henry and Phaffiana Millington, who are also members of the Guyana Female team.
