Burglary defendant must report to police thrice weekly

BRIAN Dwarka, 17, of Lot 128 Mon Repos, appeared before Magistrate Alex Moore at Sparendaam Court, yesterday, charged with break and enter and larceny.

It is alleged that, on Saturday, February 23, at Mon Repos, he broke and entered the dwelling house of Gwen Bisnauth and stole one laptop computer valued $80,000 and one pair earrings  worth $5,000, making a total loss of $85,000.
The virtual complainant told the court that, on numerous occasions, the defendant has been going in her yard without permission.
Cadet Officer Fredella Boyce, prosecuting, did not object to the grant of pre-trial liberty.
Dwarka was put on $60,000 bail and ordered to report to Beterverwagting Police Station, also on East Coast Demerara, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, between 08:00 to 12:00 hrs, until the case is completed.
