Prime Minister presents motorcycle to Annai radio station

PRIME Minister Samuel Hinds yesterday handed over a Jialing motorcycle to Radio Paiwomak, 97.1 FM, which operates out of Annai, North Rupununi, to assist media personnel to travel to the savannah areas to gather news and information. Speaking to the Guyana Chronicle, Prime Minister Hinds said that the motorcycle was donated, compliments of the Office of the Prime Minister and the agent of Jialing motorcycles in Guyana.
The Prime Minister said that last October when he visited Annai, an employee of the radio station approached him and asked for assistance that would make it easier for him to travel in the savannah areas in order to facilitate the delivery of programmes on the station.
He said that he is very pleased to present the motorcycle to Radio Paiwomak, noting that this is another step in the growth and development of the station.
Meanwhile, accepting the motorcycle on behalf of Radio Paiwomak, Finance Officer of the North Rupununi District Development Board, Rosie George expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Jialing agent.
She noted that the motorcycle would aid in the delivery of up-to-date news in the community by allowing their media personnel to visit the villages and gather information. The radio station operates out of the Bina Hill Institute in Annai Village,  George added.
