The 8-yr-old who bought a Valentine rose for his Mum… : Joshua died of a blunt trauma and cerebral haemorrhaging

A POST-MORTEM yesterday performed on the body of 8-year-old Joshua Hubbard revealed that he died from a blunt trauma to the neck and cerebral haemorrhaging. The student of St. Margaret’s Primary School died after being injured at school on Valentine’s Day.
Present at the mortuary at the time of the autopsy were the child’s father, Orin Hubbard and an aunt, Ms. Anne De Rouche. The child was identified by his father who also signed to have the operation performed.
Meanwhile, the deeply distraught father said that arrangements are being made to have Joshua’s body buried on Friday, pending the arrival of his eldest brother from the United States.
Reports say that another Grade 3 child attempted to bully away a red rose Joshua had bought for his mother for Valentine’s Day. Determined that his mother should get the rose, Joshua held tightly on to it. It is alleged, the other child pushed him, causing him to fall.
The injured boy made his way home and, kissing his mother, presented the rose to her.
Later that night, Joshua began to toss and turn in his bed and complained of pains in his head.
They rushed him to the Woodlands Hospital, but he was pronounced dead soon after arrival.
At the school yesterday, the headmistress told media representatives that she was writing a report on the matter for submission to the ministry and she was too busy to speak to them.

She then instructed the security guard to escort the reporters out of the school compound and lock the gate, which he did.
Soon after two senior officials of the Ministry of Education visited the school and spoke with the headmistress.
