BAKER Lionel Greaves (no address given) pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault causing actual bodily harm yesterday and was put on $40,000 bail by Magistrate Judy Latchman. It was alleged that, on Sunday, February 17, in Cooper Street, Albouystown, Georgetown, he unlawfully assaulted Nancy Brown.
But the defendant said, that day, his phone rang and the virtual complainant (VC), feeling that another woman had called him, snatched the instrument and attempted to run away and he pulled her back.
However, the woman told a different story. She said Greaves put her out of the house with her chair set which was left outside and soaked in the rain, telling her that, if she only returns home, he would beat her.
The case will be called, again, on March 13.
