Third brother remanded in Albouystown robbery case

LEONARD Allicock (no address given) was remanded to prison yesterday, on a robbery under arms charge.

He appeared before Magistrate Sueanna Lovell and pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, on February 9, at Lot 33 James Street, Albouystown, Georgetown, being armed with a gun, he robbed Amanda Kyte of a number of items valued $687,000.
Police Sergeant Alexis David-Hossanah, prosecuting, said the defendant and virtual complainant (VC) are known to each other and, on that day, the former and his two brothers, together with another person, went to the woman’s shop and held her at gunpoint.
The prosecutor said the defendant and the other men robbed the woman and she was rescued, by her brother, from the men, one of whom was also armed with a cutlass and attacked him.
The prosecutor said the defendant’s brothers were recently remanded to prison on the same charge and she objected to bail for him, stating that he is a flight risk and may not return for trial.
Attorney-at-law Mr. Adrian Thompson, who appeared as a friend, also requested reasonable bail but the magistrate refused the grant and Allicock is to remain incarcerated through February 25.
