A MAN yesterday doused his Patentia, West Bank Demerara (WBD) home with gasoline, and burnt it to the ground in full view of the public, leaving a pregnant woman homeless in the process. Trevor Thomas, also called ‘Moey’, had reportedly built the small wooden shack just over three years ago.

According to reports, he had left the area and had not been living in his house for a few months; but upon his return, he found another man, identified as ‘Flex’, along with the pregnant woman, living in the home.

‘Moey’, whom residents described as a ‘drug addict’ was reportedly angered upon finding the couple living in his house without his permission, and so decided to burn the ‘shack’ down.

Located at Patentia East Front Squatting area, WBD, the shack was reduced to charred rubble within minutes.

Police have since launched an investigation into the arson.(Gary Eleazar)
