KINDLY publish this letter for me in the Guyana Chronicle newspaper which gives balanced coverage on current issues in our country.

I am a reader of ‘The Freddie Kissoon column’, but all I can conclude about this so-called intellectual is that he has a physiological problem. Kissoon is mad with himself and the world apparently because as a person of East Indian ancestry, he is black in complexion. This is why he is so egocentric, thinking highly about himself and having a false belief that he is “the brightest man in Guyana” when he is not.
But Freddie must know that his problem is simply to overcome where his dark complexion is concerned. All he has to do is to buy the right creams to lighten his colour or he can do a thorough skin-bleaching to look white. However, it is said at the ground level that when you are white or black and ugly you are real ugly. This is Kissoon’s problem.
Kissoon claims to be highly “educated”. But despite his “brilliance”, he is not recognised by the Government of Guyana because of his Loose-Cannon or Lunatic behaviour which is typical of a madman in Guyana. This is why his columns are considered to be mere comedies. But it is said that “Whom the Gods wish to destroy they first make mad”. This is why the government is simply ignoring Freddie.
Despite his hostile criticisms against the government while being a lecturer at UG, he was still the recipient of a three-storeyed property. How ungrateful is this Political Rascal conveniently claiming to be a ‘Social Activist’ and ‘Human Rights Activist’.
Further, Kissoon has ventured into lowness by being a lapdog for the AFC, doing their dirty biddings in the public domain. This is why the Stabroek News had dumped him for being an irresponsible writer. But if the Kaieteur News decides to do the same, poor Fredie will end up into the darkness of oblivion.
Kissoon also claims to be a member of some ‘People’s Parliament’. What is this ‘People’s Parliament’? It is a cabal of political activists from APNU and the AFC idly masquerading as ‘Social Activists’.
Kissoon criticises the President of Guyana Mr. Donald Ramotar, claiming that he was a student of his at UG. But look where his past student is? He is a statesman, the President of Guyana. Where is Freddie by the way? He is rightly placed in a dump heap.
Kissoon also heavily criticises Guyana’s former President Mr. Bharrat Jagdeo simply because he is envious of Mr. Jagdeo’s national and international achievements. The former President has four Honorary Doctorates from foreign universities for his outstanding leadership and continues to be recognised in the international arena for his valuable and on-going contribution to the fight against global climate change.
Professor Jaipaul Singh of the University of Central Lancashire on the conferral of the Fourth Honorary Doctorate on Mr. Jagdeo, had this to say: “I wouldn’t be amazed if he gets the Nobel Prize for his work, he is one of the brightest Guyanese, academically, he is great”.
Mr. Jagdeo is also the United Nations (UN) Champion of the Earth and Patron of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
He is goodwill ambassador for the three forest basins of Amazonia, Congo and Borneo Mekong, actively promoting forest conservation.
Where is Kissoon, by the way, in comparison to the levels of the former and current president of Guyana? Kissoon is not even qualified to speak to these two gentlemen. Poor Freddie, while being at UG for so long was not competent to even produce or publish academic research. Kissoon is therefore a waste. It is said that “an empty barrel makes the most noise”. This saying fits him.
