National skipper among 15 named by LABA to face G/town

FOLLOWING elections within their respective basketball communities, both the Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA) and the Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) have agreed to oppose each other in two select clashes to commence the latter’s season for this year.

The first clash will take place this Saturday at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall and to that effect, the LABA have named a strong 15-man squad which includes national skipper Steve Neils (Jr), from which their final 12 will be selected.
The names released comprised a combination of players who have represented Guyana at either the junior or senior level and at the inter-association levels.
Joining Neils (Jr) are national centre Shane Webster and forward Neil Marks, former youth national guards Orin Rose (Jr), Chris Williams and Marlon Pollydore and Allister Webster  along with former national junior captain Marvin Hartman, Quincy Jones, Mark Louis, Nevin Grenville, Harold Adams, Orlando Glasgow and Keon Cameron.
According to an official from the LABA, the names of the Under-19 players will be announced later this week along with the coaches and technical staff for the event on Saturday.
