THREE youths who were remanded prisoners at the New Amsterdam Prison appeared before Magistrate Adela Nagamootoo on Monday, charged jointly with buggery. The 17-year-olds are Narmish Ramballe, who is facing a murder charge; Amas Amzad, a convicted prisoner; and Rawle La Fleur. They are alleged to have committed the act on July 1, 2012, whist in confinement at the Young Offenders Block at the penitentiary.
The trio is accused of committing the unnatural sex act on a fellow youthful inmate, who has since been transferred to the Juvenile Detention Centre after officials discovered he was under age 16.
The three facing the charge have to be back in court on February 18.
